Appalachian Byways

A rare book for anyone interested in rural beauty and grass-roots America at her finest.

This is a self-published volume by nationally recognized fine art photographer Jack Jeffers.

BYWAYS is a soft-cover collector’s edition with about ninety sepia toned illustrations accompanied by interesting anecdotal material. Five thousand copies were printed in 1984 and about three hundred were later set aside to be sold during Jeffers’ retirement years.

Each book is autographed by the artist and the retail price is $24.95
Include $3 for shipping.

“For years the lanky Jeffers backpacked his way around the mountains, slowly winning over the shy mountain people he found there, recording for posterity a way of life that is rapidly disappearing.

I am particularly fond of his winter scenes of old log homes and split rail fences, masterfully composed.

It’s a lovely book of photographs and interesting stories, far above the quality of any self-published book that I’ve seen.”
